  1. This would work, but you might get confused about which version you’re running (since the App Store app one wants to be called Xcode.app without any version number).
  2. I’ve not tried it for a while, but renaming the Xcode.app after you’ve been using it might break things. I’m also pretty sure I remember the App Store renaming it back the next time it updated.
  3. That’s what I do, and what the article recommends. You have to download beta versions manually and WWDC 2018 is coming soon!
